2019

  • If you choose to participate in the ABOS WLA, you must begin in 2019.
  • You must achieve five consecutive Quality Years, or answer all 120 questions correctly by 2022. A Quality Year is achieved by correctly answering 24 out of 30 questions. If you choose to continue to participate in the ABOS WLA in your next cycle, you will be required to complete five consecutive Quality Years again, for 10-straight Quality Years in total.
  • For each year you participate in the ABOS WLA, your current Certificate end date will be extended by one year. (Note: New Certificates will not be mailed unless the Diplomate requests one and pays the required fee.)
  • While your current Certificate end date will be extended, up until successful completion in 2023, your next Certificate end date will remain at 2029.
  • If you do not earn a Quality Year at any time, you must then take an ABOS Computer-Based or Oral Recertification Examination.
  • You must submit your Recertification Application, Application Fee, Case List, and CME/SAE requirements by December 1, 2018 (if you have not done so).
