  • If you choose to participate in the ABOS WLA, you must begin in 2019.
  • You must achieve five consecutive Quality Years, or answer all 120 questions correctly by 2022. A Quality Year is achieved by correctly answering 24 out of 30 questions.
  • If you do not earn a Quality Year in the next five years, you must then take an ABOS Computer-Based or Oral Recertification Examination.
  • You must submit your Recertification Application, Application Fee, Case List, and CME/SAE requirements by December 1, 2024 (can also apply by December 1, 2022 or December 1, 2023).

You need to answer 24 out of 30 questions correct each year for five consecutive years or answer 120 questions correctly by 2022 to satisfy the WLA Pathway for MOC Part III.

Cannot Take ABOS WLA in Year 9 or 10

If you choose to continue with the ABOS WLA, you will need to answer 24 out of 30 questions correct in 5 of the next 8 years or correctly answer 120 questions.
