The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Verify Certification webpage is Primary Source Verification. Any changes made to an ABOS Diplomate’s Board Certification status will be reflected on the same day in the search results. The ABOS does not issue certificate numbers. An orthopaedic surgeon who has passed the ABOS Part I Examination but has not yet passed ABOS Part II Oral Examination is deemed Board Eligible. The ABOS only includes those who have passed the ABOS Part II Examination to become ABOS Board Certified.
